Overview
Pichu is an Electric-type Pokémon introduced in Generation II. It is the baby form of Pikachu and evolves into Pikachu when leveled up with high friendship. Pichu is known for its small size, playful nature, and difficulty controlling its own electricity.
Although Pichu is cute and energetic, it can accidentally shock itself or others when it releases electricity. As it grows and builds trust with its Trainer, it becomes more stable and eventually evolves into Pikachu.
Biology
Pichu resembles a tiny yellow mouse with large black ears, pink cheek pouches, and a small black tail. Its body is not yet strong enough to store large amounts of electricity, so it may discharge sparks when surprised, excited, or scared.
Abilities
- Static — May paralyze an opponent that makes physical contact with Pichu.
- Lightning Rod — Draws in Electric-type moves and boosts Pichu's Special Attack.
Evolution
Pichu is the first stage of the Pikachu evolution line:
- Pichu

- Raichu
Battle style
Pichu is usually described as a fast but fragile Electric-type Pokémon. It can use quick electric attacks, but its small body makes it vulnerable in battle. Pichu is often valued more for its growth potential and friendship-based evolution.
